The Barra MacNeills
As a group, the six MacNeil siblings are widely regarded as one of the greatest live acts in the Celtic world. Hailing from Sydney Mines, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, the family group is deeply rooted in Celtic music, culture and history. Their numerous critically acclaimed recordings have included their own original songs as well as tried and true standards, both instrumental and vocal. |

Pogey
Absent from our festival for a few years the members of Pogey hail from the Halifax, Nova Scotia area. Nudibranch recording artists POGEY combine original Celtic/Rock tunes with stellar instrumentals. The now six piece band performs with genuine spontaneous and spectacular energy. They have the audience the minute they hit the stage.

Kevin Burke,
Irish fiddler, acknowledged exponent of the highly ornamented Sligo style. Member of the Bothy Band, Open House, Patrick Street & The Celtic Fiddle Festival. Was a consultant on a Cal Scott TV project about the Troubles in Northern Ireland called "The Road to Bloody Sunday."

Cal Scott composes music for film and television. A master of many styles, his specialty is scoring to picture: creating the right music to tell the story. In addition to his dramatic orchestrations, he has developed a feel for folk music of many cultures, helping a film establish a sense of place and time.

Liz will be performing with her own CT based acoustic band. Their music can be described as "Americana" with a touch of folk, bluegrass and celtic influences intertwined. The group comprises of Morgan Eve Swain on fiddle, Chuck O'Donnell on guitar/dobro/harmonica, John Hurley on mandolin/guitar and Fred McKay on bass. Liz and the band provide the perfect balance of strong vocals, harmonies and riveting instrumentals.

The Mickey Finns have a unique and wholly original sound....Start with Ray Kelly’s cigarette scratched and whiskey soaked voice...add his high energy, acoustic-punk guitar. Then add the wonderboy fiddle of Matt Mancuso..a technical genius with amazing taste, licks, and a great vocalist, as well. Mix in the funky world percussion of Brian Tracey and you’ve got The Mickey Finns. ....Upbeat, acoustic/punk, energetic, original & traditional Irish...all with an irreverant touch. Knockout Irish Music at it’s best!!!
